Established in 1951, by Bawa Sarup Singh an ardent disciple and descendent of Guru Amar Dass, Pingla Ghar provides food, shelter, cloths, protection and medical treatment without any distinction of caste creed, sex or
religion. The institution was awarded NATIONAL AWARD by President of India Shri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy and the founder President Bawa Sarup Singh has the privilege to receive the NATIONAL AWARD from the President of India.The Institution has nearly 400 patients- 55% are Ladies and Children and 45% Males. Patients are disabled, mentally retarded, orphans and aged.
The Institute provides dry ration like Atta, Dals and Blankets etc. to nearly 100 needy families from out side. More Than 50% helpers in the institute are recovered patients of Pingla
Ghar. After recovery from illness Pingla Ghar has performed marriages of about 15 couples who came to Pingla Ghar as Patients. |

Inmates are also taken out of
outings and picnics on several occasions. To provide atmosphere of
work some of the patients make envelopes, candles and also they
help in the kitchen for preparing food. Children are provided
education in Pingla Ghar. After their recovery they are sent to
recognized schools in the city for higher education.
